by Sarah Clark Jordan
Sarah Clark Jordan believes
children's books should be both funny and heroic.
She
thought of the idea for The
BossQueen, Little BigBark, and The Sentinel Pup, while moving her sister and her
sister's three large dogs (Chris, Layla, and Mina) across the country
to a house with a new husband and his two children (and a cat). What
began as a story to explain the history and personalities of the three
pets to her sister's new family became a novel about change, growing
up, growing older, and leadership.
Sarah
Clark Jordan's short stories and essays have appeared in numerous
publications; this is her first novel, and it is published by Tricycle
Press, a children's division of Ten Speed Press, Berkeley, CA.
She
lives with her husband, Gary, and their three children in the
Dallas/Fort Worth area. Contrary to popular belief, she has never
owned a dog.
