I strongly believe children's stories should be both funny
and heroic, so these though themes of the book are wrapping gently in
humor. I know I have succeed when children run up to me laughing
to tell me parts of my book that they particularly liked. It's an
odd but satisfying experience to listen as an excited child recites a
funny line I wrote. We share the joke as if I am divorced from the
writing of it.
